Weekend Get-Away(s)

A few weeks ago, Scott and I rented a car with the intent of getting out of the city. We needed a break from people to be exact. What we didn't plan on was having half the population of DC follow us out. Note to self, plan people-get-away breaks around Federal holidays when living in DC; Columbus day really screwed us over.

So to escape the heavy interstate traffic we took some back roads. Breathe taking views of the rolling country-side in Maryland and Virginia. On Saturday we went to Harpers Ferry, WV by way of Maryland. Sorry no pictures, we didn't even get out of the car it was too crowded. Then on Sunday we drove around Virginia and fell in love with Middleburg. Unfortunately we were too smitten with the town to snap any photos. We are going back out for holiday celebrations and will take a few then.

Regis picked out pumpkins at a road-side-stand.

We went to a dog-friendly winery on Sunday.

Paul was in the area for business the next week, so he spent the weekend with us. Naturally we took advantage of his rental car and went for another drive. This time we went to Skyline Line Dive in the Shenandoah National Park. Breathe-Taking!

Many look-out points along the 30+ mile drive. We didn't do the whole thing.

Not the best of me, but great of Scott.

Squinty eyes, but we are all in the shot (look closely) {PS it was very windy, thus the scarf around my head}
