See, I am already better!

Well this past week has been a doozy, I mean how many hours can two people sleep, eat their brains out and watch an entire series on Netflix! Oh the humanity!!!!

So as DC goes we all usually have the week between Christmas and NewYears off as congress is not in session, but this year congress is in session...and we still had the time off. For Scott this means drawing, stoping into work once a week and drawing some more. For me this means watching episode after episode of Scrubs, thinking that I really should get up and do something.

I am an avid believer that the dawn of the new year is the prefect time to clean out the closest. We have two very large bags of clothes that will be making a trip to a local church, our caned goods are all well within prefect freshness and our medicine will do the trick without causing further problems. Can you believe I still have the Wal-Mart brand antibiotic ointment that my mom gave me before college?! I actually have the receipt too as its in the heat pad case.

This week we have done a ton of cooking:

- 9lb turkey
- giant pot if mashed potatoes
- stuffing
- green beans with mushrooms
- pecan pie (this was all Scott)
- leftover turkey pot pie with cheddar biscuits
- jalapeƱo-bacon cream cheese dip
- Aunt Mary's chex mix
- my moms apple dip

I am pretty sure our dish washer has seen more action this week then it ever had before.

Well I am off to sew (wink, wink)...

I will be better in 2013....I promise!

Well much has happened since I last threw-up the pre-Sandy picture....

....I (with the help of my wonderful co-workers) hosted 250 people at the National Conference for Rebuilding Together in Orlando
....Scott started a clothing line call Sadistic Skott which will make its debut at a tattoo expo in a few weeks
....Scott had his second 'Open' show at Corcoran, which was very well received
....I traveled to New Orleans to do some prep work for our Super Bowl build called Kickoff To Rebuild
....I accepted some additional projects at work as I celebrated by 6 month anniversary
....we walked a five foot Christmas tree the three blocks home, set it up, argued over how to achieve a perfectly straight tree (I won) and sipped cider as we decorated the home for the holidays
....Scott also completed his 5th semester at Corcoran
.....and he finished his first issue of the web comic The Pugilist
....we thought about buying a house in DC, talked with a realtor and realized that that remains a dream (these prices are astronomical!)
....we celebrate Christmas with a feast for two and by opening presents with the whole family on goggle hangout

....we have been busy as life keeps ticking away.

I have set a reminder for a weekly update on Sunday. With the iPad I really have no excuse!

Oh My Travel...Life...Blog!!!

OH MY BLOG!!! Hello to my family, friends and strangers that follow...I truly apologize for the lack of blogging. Life really couldn't be busier, right now I am snuggling in my hotel room fighting a cold.

Here's a recap of the past few months:

In late June I started my new job at Rebuilding Together as the Manager of Special Events. I am in LOVE with this organization and my role!!! I work with great co-workers to execute several events including the Kickoff To Rebuild (NFL), All-Star Day of Service (NBA and MLB), Building A Healthy Neighborhood and head the National Conference

Since starting I have had the opportunity visit a few cities! In August (over my birthday to be exact) my supervisor and I went to New Orleans to team up with Rebuilding Together New Orleans as we conducted a site inspect the project location for Kickoff To Rebuild 2013. I love this city, the culture is so rich and vibrant.

While I was gone, my moss rose grew about 6"!!!

Since Tuesday I have been on the West Coast siting properties for the 2014 National Conference. A co-worker and I looked at four properties in Sacramento and now I am solo looking at four additional properties in San Diego. This was a very cool art installation in the Sacramento airport (an upside down tree with crystal lights).

When you conduct site inspections, you get nothing but the best VIP treatment. The best rooms, complementary room service, the works! This was the view from my room last night. This afternoon I took a walk along the board walk of Mission Beach.

I do promise to write more, maybe that iPad I NEED will help?!?!

You know who has been really busy? This guy: STEAM STATION COMICS

The Pugilist: The Internet's Newest Web Comic

Accomplishing your dreams is an amazing feeling; knowing that you are one step closer to your personal goal of success.

Yesterday was a great day for Scott.

He because a published author, illustrator and colorer in the publication Magic Bullet that was released with 5,000 copies being distributed to Washington metro residents. AND He posed the first four pages of his premier web comic, The Pugilist. This is a comic about atomic zombie apes trying to destroy the world and how the brut Pugilist and his side-kick Sparky save the day.

If you like comics or art in general, follow this guy. He is going places.
